Self described as a “Divinely Inspired Diva”, Music Director Julie Croteau is a native of the Eastern Washington area. She began attending Unity Church of Truth in Spokane as a teenager and knew it was right for her. She has sung in a variety of productions with Spokane Opera Company, Coeur d’Alene Opera Plus, and Spokane's Center Stage, and has been a guest soloist for many local churches and organizations. In 1990 she became Music Director for the Unity Church of Truth, but after 2 years decided to focus on her family and what she thought was her true calling of Opera. However, having been given the opportunity to attend the Agape New Thought Music Conference on several occasions, as well as the Sound Connections Music Conference at Unity Village, it wasn't too long before the idea of singing 'music with a meaning' became deeply embedded in her soul. So, in 2005 she stepped back into the role of Music Director, but this time at the Unity Church of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene.

UCNI is one of 13 churches world wide involved in the “Transformation Experience”, a pilot program with the Association of Unity Churches designed to teach churches how to thrive. Julie works directly with Reverend Deidre Ashmore, and with the help of many fabulously talented musicians, has built a dynamic and heart-felt music ministry. When asked why she does what she does, Julie answers,

“If you combine great songs with musicians that are truly connected to their source, you can create heaven on earth! When I hear people humming our songs as they exit the church, it's Nirvana to my soul! We've sent them home with a musical message, a point of comfort, a reminder of joy, that they can return to over and over through out the week. This is my ministry.”
