Like many non-profits, Family Promise of North Idaho is struggling to keep needed funds flowing during the shutdown. Due to constraints brought on by the pandemic, they are unable to hold public fundraising events right now. Therefore, if you support their mission, please consider sending them a check or donating from their website FamilyPromiseNI.org. If you are contributing by mail, send your check to P.O. Box 3682, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83816.
On Sunday, April 11th, Reverend Steve's Spirit Group is planning to work in our Community Garden to get it ready for planting. If you would like to help, bring a rake, shovel, or other weeding implement and plan to join in. This is a wonderful way to connect with the earth and each other. The project starts at 12 pm.
We are also planning a work party for Saturday, April 17th to get our property spruced up for spring and summer activities. This project includes tree trimming, weeding, and grass clipping. This community gathering and work effort runs from 9 am to 1pm. Everyone is welcome.
Sign up to provide a meal during the Week of April 4-10
We have an opportunity to share our blessings and compassion with homeless families in our area. Our commitment is to take evening meals to the Guest Families at Family Promise during the week of April 4th through April 10th. If you can lend a hand, please sign up in the fellowship hall. If you have questions, please see Tami Savage or Susan Kirchmaier.
If you have visited us lately, you may have noticed the metal cupboard near the door as you came in. It is our new Unity Food Pantry. Soon it will be stocked with nonperishable food for use by hungry folks in our area. If you would like to help us stock it up, set aside any excess non-expired non-perishable food you can spare, and we will let you know when to start bringing to the Center. Also, the bottom shelf will be used to stock weather appropriate items like gloves, hats, mufflers, small blankets, and coats. During the summer, we will stock items such as Chapstick, hats and sunblock.
We are so Grateful for this Dynamic Duo
Judy and Jim Sullenberger
Judy says" I kick Jim out of bed on Sunday mornings so he gets to church on time for weekly services." Thank you Judy!!!
Mark (Soss) set up video, etc. AND taking down the system. Often Jim will tweak the sound board midweek and address electronic issues. He has been known to handle maintenance of lights, both indoors and outdoors, crawl in the attic over the sanctuary to check/repair wiring, set up new TV/maintain it in the Friendship Hall, set up new
donated projector in the sanctuary, repair/maintain speakers in the hallways/child care room, troubleshoot/repair various electrical issues in the mechanical/furnace room, work on Jerilyn's computer as needed, install credit card readers, and maintain Wi-Fi network. Not to leave out he helps out with the sprinkers too. Whew!
Jim says "I do anything Todd asks of me."
"I am so impressed by how much Jim donates of his skills, talents, and time, and also donates out of his own pocket for equipment at times! "- Todd Neel
Our bylaws require an Annual Renewal of Membership for the 2021 fiscal year. You can renew by completing a printed form in the church office, or by accessing the online membership form on our website, or by calling the church office at 208-664-1125. Thank you!
Jerilyn has been blessed over the past two years to have Dan working with her as an office volunteer. What made Dan unique was his advanced computer and office skills. Unfortunately, he is moving to Las Vegas in February. Consequently, Jerilyn is looking to find a new person to take his place on Thursdays from 10AM to 2PM. If you like working with spreadsheets, and have experience preparing mail merges, Jerilyn can use your help. Contact her or stop by the office if you can serve in this way.
If you would like to know more about what is going on here then check out the posted minutes from our board meetings. They are available on the bulletin board in the hallway.
Also, a key aspect of maintaining a healthy community is providing timely and accurate communication. Therefore, to close any potential information gaps, the board of trustees is instituting a weekly Heart to Heart Talk. Each Sunday, after the service, a member of the board will be available in the Meditation room to address your comments, questions or concerns. We hope you will take this opportunity to share with them.

USCNI tithes 10% of its proceeds each month. We share equally with Unity Village, Unity Worldwide Ministries, Unity Northwest Region and to a local nonprofit agency who shares our core values. The Board made a list of such agencies, and each month we share with a different one from the list. We also tithe 10% to our reserve account each month; and give $100 to Unity Spiritual Life Center Of Southern Idaho. A list of the local non-profits is available at the bottom of our Values and Beliefs page.
