Gandhi: The Man

Synopsis: Although his achievements are monumental, Gandhi is still just a man. In fact, according to his own candid admission, he was a less than perfect man. Yet he overcame his extreme shyness, a violent temper, and many unformed fears to become a magnetic leader who even his opponents could not resist. This Sunday, Reverend Michael Moran will examine Gandhi’s life and share the story of his transformation.
“A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” -- Mahatma Gandhi

In 1892 Mohandas K. Gandhi was 23 years old. At the time, he was just a shy, tongue-tied young man from colonial India. In fact, it is safe to say that at this point in his young life, he considered himself a pitiful failure. Yet within his lifetime, he became the world-renowned icon for successful nonviolent revolution and the revered spiritual leader for a nation. His inspiring guidance and unwavering vision led 400 million Indians to successfully gain independence from England after 300 years of oppression. Although his achievements are monumental, Gandhi is still just a man.
