Unity is proud to participate in the Season for Nonviolence. This annual event takes place from January 30th to April 4 to commemorate the memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This annual effort is the creation of the Association of Global New Thought. The movement is an educational, media and grassroots awareness campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to focus educational and media attention on the philosophy of attaining peace through nonviolent action. The efficacy of peace through nonviolence is not in question. It has been successfully used by such legendary leaders a Mahatma Ghandi, Dr Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Cesar Chavez. Currently, His Holiness-the Dalai Lama employs this principle in his efforts to win back the independence of Tibet from China. This Sunday, Reverend Michael Moran will start off his new lesson series on the transformation of Mahatma Gandhi with an overview of the Season for Nonviolence. Come join us this Sunday and learn how this movement can inform your own life.
