Continuing the WorkSYNOPSIS: Picking up where we left off last week, today we continue the work of creating turning points in the direction of being who we came here to be and doing what we came here to do. We will also honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with music from T.U.N.E. (The Unity New Thought Ensemble). FEATURED MUSICIAN: T.U.N.E. (Julie Croteau, Gwen Gathercoal, Mark Soss & Laura Wineteer) TAKEAWAYS: There is an idea in New Though that says, “Spiritual truths or principles work, when we work them.” What does this mean? It means I need to be congruent with what I think, say and do. The consistent application of thought and action will demonstrate my results — it has to match. In other words, apple seeds don’t produce oranges.
This Sunday we’ll continue with the study of Pam Grout’s book Ecubed. Pam’s work is about proving to ourselves the validity of the statement: “our thoughts create our reality.” This idea is Unity’s Third Basic principle. Grout brings up the importance of having turning points in our lives, which often can create a tipping point.
For clarity, a “tipping point” is the moment at which there is enough critical mass for a major change to occur, and a “turning point” is the moment of decision, the moment we individually or collectively decide to make a shift, to head in a different direction, to view things another way, and that decision results in a radically different outcome. And “turning points” result in different “tipping points.” Our focus this month is to create for ourselves the life we would love living as we set our intentions for many of us to head in new directions for 2016. When you come on Sunday, you’ll receive two experiments to take home with you which when practiced, will prove how our thoughts and what we focus on manifests. Special music is planned during the service with singers Julie Croteau, Laura Wineteer, Mark Soss, and musicians Steve Croteau, Pamela Van Kirk, LeeAnn Aerlyn, Jim Turner, along with our music director Gwen Gathercoal. Then following the 11 a.m. service we’ll have a potluck lunch followed by a wonderfulDivine Love CD Release Concert featuring our music team. Cost of concert is $15 per person or $25 per couple, which includes a complimentary CD. All are welcome and we invite you to come, listen and sing along with inspiring New Thought music.
