To Wander the WaySynopsis: This Sunday, we are blessed to have a return visit from Licensed Unity Teacher Dennis Ashley. Dennis is a candidate for our permanent minister position. He will expand on how the powerful pull of a mystical journey transforms us. So, join us as we hear Dennis Ashley speak about the shape of “The Way” as it emerges in our lives. “Heaven’s Way does not contend, yet it certainly triumphs. It does not speak, yet it certainly answers. It does not summon, yet things come by themselves. It seems to be at rest, yet it certainly has a plan.” Tao Te Ching Presented by: Dennis Ashley LUT With music by: David Krak As this service is an audition, viewers are invited to provide feedback to our board regarding your impression of Dennis Ashley. Send your feedback to Unity@unitycenter.org. This Sunday, we are blessed to have a return visit from Licensed Unity Teacher Dennis Ashley. Dennis spoke on Mother’s Day about transcendent love. Dennis is a candidate for our permanent minister position and he is here for a formal audition. He will be giving the meditation and lesson in hopes of persuading you that he is the best fit for the position. Fifteen minutes after the service, the congregation is invited to join Dennis for a question and answer session.
Dennis calls his lesson “To Wander the Way”. His lesson highlights the Tao, which literally means “The Way”, in Taoism. He also digs into the context of the Jesus quote where he responds to Thomas with the words, “I am the way…”. In addition, he will tie in the 2010 film called “The Way”. The film illuminates the pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago. This network of pilgrims' ways leads worshipers to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great. The shrine is in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain. So, from Taoism to Christianity to an independent film, Dennis will expand on how the powerful pull of a mystical journey transforms us. When we seize the chance to examine who and what we are at the deepest of levels—when we grapple with the way the Spirit of God Within breathes us—it makes our hearts sing.
