How Then Shall I Live?

Synopsis: After this life, what’s next? Ah…there’s a question every human being must face. There are so many fascinating viewpoints held by the different religions. If the soul is the only durable aspect of ourselves, what do you think happens to it when we cross over? This Sunday, Reverend Michael Moran explores what different religions and spiritual paths believe is true about life after death. Come and have your mind stretched.

“You, darkness that I come from,
I love you more than all the fires that fence in the world,
for the fire makes a circle of light for everyone,
and then no one outside learns of you…”

- Rainer Maria Rilk
Presented by: Reverend Michael Moran
With music by: Pamela Benton

After this life, what’s next? Ah…there’s a question every human being must face. Most of us are probably familiar with the Christian concept of heaven. However, what do Muslims believe about the hereafter? What about Hindus? Most of us have learned that the Hindu religion holds to the idea of rebirth and reincarnation of the soul. So how does that work? Like Hindus, Buddhists believe in reincarnation. For them however, there is an additional catch. How you reincarnate depends on your Karma. Karma can be thought of as a positive or negative residue you bring with you from your previous life. The quality of your Karma determines the conditions you will inherit.
