Yield and Prevail

Synopsis: Forgiveness means “to let go” or “see it differently”. Ultimately, it is the process of dispelling the power of resistance. Gandhi described forgiveness as ‘yield and prevail’. On the surface, this idea seems like capitulation or submission. However, this is no moral surrender to aggression or evil. In Truth this principle reveals a great metaphysical secret. Join Reverend Michael Moran this Sunday for a deeper exploration of this Spiritual Truth.
“God demands nothing less than self - surrender as the price for the only real freedom that is worth having.” -- Mahatma Gandhi

Jesus taught his followers to “resist not evil’. What he meant was forgive. Forgiveness means “to let go” or “see it differently”. The spiritual master Lao Tzu described it this way, “Nothing in the world is more yielding and gentle than water. Yet it has no equal for conquering the resistant and tough. The flexible can overcome the unbending; the soft can overcome the hard.” In other words, resistance is the weak force. Strength, on the other hand, comes through nonresistance. Gandhi said “evil, hatred and injustice exist in so far as we support them; they have no existence on their own.” By consistently using forgiveness, you will see your resistance crumble away. Ultimately, if you take this process to its natural conclusion, you will resist nothing and receive all. Join Reverend Michael Moran this Sunday for a deeper exploration of this Spiritual Truth.
