Presented by: Reverend Michael Moran With music by: Patsy Cameron with Dale Young Everyone experiences fear. At its core, fear is an emotional and chemical response induced by a perceived threat. In nature, animals, including humans, rely on fear to warn against threats to life and limb. Usually, however, the fear trigger is benign and quickly forgotten. When it is not, our bodies are stimulated to deal with the threat through confrontation (fighting) or avoidance (fleeing). From an evolutionary perspective, this system is very effective in ensuring our safety.
Today, however, fear can be pervasive. Whether real or imagined, it seems that wherever we turn, we are faced with potential threats. Threats, to our health, our families or our finances for example. This seeming bombardment can leave us numb and infuse us with chronic over-stimulation from fear based responses. So how do we regain control over fear? The Buddha and Jesus were great spiritual masters and psychologists who knew the secret to casting out fear. This Sunday, Reverend Michael Moran shares their perfect formula for moving through the fears that haunt us. Our musical guest this Sunday is singer/songwriter Patsy Cameron.
