Susie’s lesson title is: Prayer Transforms Us to Unleash Infinite Possibilities. She writes: When stressed, I often revert to my childhood forms of prayer where I beg and try to bargain with God to help me—similar to a big Santa Claus in the sky. Through the teachings of Unity, I am exploring new ways of praying. Eric Butterworth’s book: The Universe Is Calling: Opening to the Divine Through Prayer, encourages me to shift my attitude. Instead of praying to God about my needs and troubles, I pray from an awareness of God’s presence and source of unlimited possibilities within me. On Thursday, September 8, Unity celebrates the World Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is: Discover the power within; unleash your divine potential. The Daily Word meditation invites us trust the power of God within and to let go of self-doubt, worry and fear. As a result, we boldly step forth as God’s presence in the world. We affirm harmony, peace, kindness and acceptance for all people—everywhere. Consider meditating on these two questions from the World Day of Prayer, 2016 reflection guide in preparation for this Sunday:
