What’s in the Way to an Open Heart?
SYNOPSIS: This Sunday we begin our Fall Spirit Circle 6 week program studying the book What's In the Way Is the Way by Mary O'Malley. When I saw her book featured in Unity Magazine, I was immediately inspired by the title of the book, as this has been my experience - what is in the the way, is the way! It is counter intuitive isn't it? And I have found that when I lean in to the perceived obstacle or "issue" this is where the gift of Life presents itself.
FEATURED MUSICIAN: Pamela Van Kirk
TAKEAWAYS: Life is completely different when we learn how to feel our way with our heart rather than thinking about it with our mind. The challenges of our life are for us. The Universe is friendly.
Hello Friends. It is good to be back. I’ve had an over-the-top sabbatical these past few months. I am refreshed, renewed and re-energized. I have missed you and am looking forward to being with you again.
This Sunday we begin our Fall Spirit Circle 6 week program studying the book What’s In the Way Is the Way by Mary O’Malley. I first met Mary in the early 1990’s when I was living in Seattle and attended a workshop she presented at Unity of Bellevue which was about awareness and living in the present moment. When I saw her book featured in Unity Magazine, I was immediately inspired by the title of the book, as this has been my experience — what is in the the way, is the way! It is counter intuitive isn’t it? And I have found that when I lean in to the perceived obstacle or “issue” this is where the gift of Life presents itself.
Sunday I’ll share an overview of the first two chapters exploring the question “What’s in the Way to an Open Heart?” We’ll look at the function of our mind and how it can keep us from living from our heart, which is the pathway to being present to Life in the now moment. During the service, we will experience a special meditation providing a method to stay heart centered, no matter what is happening in your life.
You are invited to join us not only on Sundays, but you may want to participate in one of our small group study circles, as we unlock the doorways to an open heart over the next 6 weeks.
We’ll be blessed with the musical offerings of Pamela Van Kirk, Dagan Williamson, Gwen Gathercoal, Gina Barber, Mark Soss and Kelly Burke. The house will be rockin’!
Also, plan to stay for the potluck lunch at 12:30 a.m. and join us in our Heart to Heart Gathering at 1 p.m. to share sabbatical stories — yours and mine.
Joining you in the love of Christ,
