Our modern lives have created conditions that discourage taking time out for inner reflection. The constant rush of activity and distraction make it hard to find moments of solitude. Most of us are aware of the importance of slowing down and giving ourselves permission to spiritually recharge. Yet, our habits and daily pressures often get in the way. These days, our fleeting moments of free time are often spent checking our social media accounts rather than checking in with ourselves. We need to disrupt this daily cycle and become conscious about creating time for ourselves—time to reflect on life, connect with our divine presence, and renew ourselves.
According to the Bible, Sunday was set aside for rest and worship. In the book of Exodus, God rested on the seventh day following the six days of the Creation. This sacred day was known as the Sabbath. Whether it takes place on a Sunday, we all need to create sacred time and space in our lives for reflection and renewal. When we make time for regular renewal, we find that we are happier, more productive and connected to our purpose. Join us this Sunday as Reverend Steve Towles reminds us to create a personal Sabbath and use it consistently to reconnect with Spirit.
Our featured musician is Michael Robinson. He will be accompanied by Gwen Gathercoal, Gary Buettner, Gary Edwards, and Dagan Williamson. Michael will be our song leader.
