Reverend James Kress continues his Advent series. This Sunday’s focus is on Joy.
There is a profound difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is conditional, it rises and falls with what happens to you, like the successes you celebrate, or the comforts you enjoy. Joy, however, is deeper. Joy reflects who you are within. Put another way, happiness is fleeting, like a spark that fades when the moment passes. Joy, by contrast, is a steady flame—always available, always present, even in times of struggle.
The Christmas story reflects this truth. Its mythical and spiritual insights are a reminder that joy is not dependent on wealth, status, or ease—it is everlasting, unconditional, and freely given to you.
This Sunday, join Reverend James Kress for a message that explores joy as a spiritual practice—something you can cultivate, nurture, and return to, no matter where life takes you.
Wherever you are on your spiritual journey—whether you are seeking, questioning, or celebrating—you are welcome here.
You can join us in person or online.
