Sunday, May 10th is Mother’s Day, a day that holds many meanings and memories for each of us. Motherhood is not a single story but a vast landscape of experiences. It can be joyful, complicated, tender, painful, and transformative—and all of these expressions are deeply human. Motherhood shows up in many forms: in those who have raised children, in those who long to, in those who nurture through friendship and community, and in those who mother through creativity, compassion, and care for the world. This Sunday, we honor all expressions of motherhood.
In recognition of this day, our intention is to explore the sacred, universal, and inclusive blessings of motherhood—blessings found not only in our families, but also in our relationships with one another and in the natural world that continually nurtures and sustains us. Together, we will reflect on the ways mothering energy appears in our lives: as guidance, protection, fierce love, patience, renewal, and the quiet strength that helps us grow.
Join Reverend James Kress this Sunday for a message honoring the many dimensions and expressions of motherhood.
