As we shared in last week’s emergency newsletter, a small electrical fire occurred on Christmas Day affecting one of our two furnaces. No one was hurt, and the building was not damaged. However, the furnace that heats the offices and meeting rooms is currently offline.
If you attended service last Sunday, December 28, you noticed that the Sanctuary remains fully heated. And, while the other rooms were cooler than usual, it did not seem to hinder our gathering.
Consequently, despite the ongoing issue with the furnace, we plan to hold service again this Sunday, January 4th, as well as the community potluck. Since the Friendship Hall is without its primary heat source, we will use space heaters to warm the room as best we can. Even so, we encourage everyone to anticipate cooler temperatures outside the Sanctuary.
