December 1 is the first Sunday of Advent. The word "advent" is Latin for "to come to." It is a time of soul renewal as you come to your spirituality and your wholeness. The lighting of candles during Advent is a deeply symbolic way to come closer and closer to your soul's fulfillment. The first Sunday of Advent focuses on the Light of Hope. That is perfect because you are on a journey inward to your wholeness. You honor hope, and that helps you come closer and closer to lighting the Spirit of God within you.
